Cape Cod Lighter. 

This is a 20th century fireplace tool and is in good condition with some expected tarnish on the lid and rod.

Kerosene was kept in the cast iron kettle and the pumice stone at the end of the rod was immersed in it.  When you wanted to light a fire, you would first prepare the kindling and firewood in the fireplace or stove and the ignite the end of the rod and use that as torch to ignite the wood.

Good condition.  Can still be used today.
