Japonica- painted Imari style
This jug measures 6-3/4” high x 5-1/2” from the end off the spout to the end of the handle x 3” across the rim and is approximately 4-1/2” at the base.
It has a pewter lid that pivots within the built in holders- a tiny hole and a cutout.
It is decorated in the Imari pattern, front and back with orange/rust flowers, a green vase, cobalt blue leaves, with 2 bands of cobalt sandwiching that. At the rim there is a 1” band of flowers within separated areas with red lines going through the background. Cobalt blue handle. Gold ring around the base. The gold trim on the upper rim is slightly worn.
This jug is in good antique condition. No chips or cracks. Light crazing on the bottom. The colours remain vibrant.
