Hand Blown, crimped and enamel painted bowl on a silver plated stand.
This is commonly referred to as a “Brides Basket”.
They were very popular during the late Victorian Era.
The metal stand. Silver plated, was produced in Canada, by the Standard Silver Co. from Toronto. The stamp dates from 1893.
The bowl measures 9” in diameter and is approximately 3-1/2” high. It has a crimped edge, and has hand painted enamel Daisy’s, Forget-Me- Nots, and Trumpet Flowers, in white, yellow, mauve, blue, and green.
This bowl is in very good condition. No chips, cracks or crazing. The paint is solid and vibrant.
The stand is somewhat tarnished, but is good shape-nice patina.
